But Will I FLY?

Everyone has a starting point for everything in life, and this journey begins from the very moment we enter the world—screaming like tiny banshees. Babies, for instance, embark on a fascinating developmental journey that can be summed up as: “How do I get that shiny thing over there?” They first learn to roll over, a milestone that marks their initial exploration of movement (and their first chance to annoy their parents by rolling off the bed). This is followed by the ability to scoot, which allows them to navigate their surroundings with the finesse of a tiny, determined tank. As they grow stronger and more coordinated, they beg

in to crawl, a crucial skill that enhances their independence and gives their parents a heart attack when they head straight for the dog’s water bowl. Eventually, they take their first steps, transitioning to walking, and later, they run and jump with joy—because nothing says “I’m a toddler” like a full-speed dash into a wall! Each stage builds upon the last, reflecting the importance of mastering foundational skills before advancing to more complex activities (like mastering the art of tantrums).

Your Gym Journey: The Comedy of Errors

Similarly, when it comes to fitness, everyone has their own starting point—often marked by the sound of awkward grunts and the smell of desperation. Consider your first visit to the gym; it can be an overwhelming experience. You might begin by riding a stationary bike, which is basically a glorified chair that mocks you for not going outside. Or perhaps you’ll find yourself walking or running on a treadmill, wondering if you’re training for a marathon or just trying to escape your responsibilities. As you gain confidence (and possibly a few new gym buddies who share in your struggle), you gradually move on to more challenging workouts—unless you get distracted by the snack bar, in which case, all bets are off.

Bungee Fitness: The Ultimate Adventure

Now, let’s talk about bungee fitness! Your very first class, affectionately known as Ground School A, is designed to prepare you for the exhilarating experience of flying—without the need for a pilot’s license or a parachute! We take the time to ensure that you are fully ready to embark on this unique fitness journey. A crucial aspect of your preparation is selecting the right attire. Wearing clothing that provides proper support is essential for your comfort and safety—because nothing says “I’m ready to fly” like a wardrobe malfunction mid-air! This includes a comfy shirt, supportive leggings, and shoes that fit snugly and securely. Choosing the right outfit is not just about looking good; it significantly enhances your overall experience in our studio and allows you to focus on enjoying the workout without distractions (like your pants falling down).

Embrace the Awkwardness

Don’t let worries hold you back if you’ve never stepped inside a gym before, haven’t tried bungee fitness yet, or are feeling a bit anxious about the possibility of “looking silly.” It’s completely normal to have these concerns, and you’re certainly not alone in feeling this way. Here’s the secret: you will laugh, you will have fun, and yes, you might look a little silly at times! Embracing the joy and lightheartedness of the experience is part of the journey—like the time you tried to impress your friends with your dance moves and ended up looking like a flailing octopus. Along with the laughter, you will also get a little sweaty as you engage in an aerobic workout that will challenge your body in exciting ways. This is your opportunity to start your bungee fitness journey on the right foot—unless you trip over your own feet, in which case, just roll with it!

Assessing Your ‘Flight Weight’

As we progress, we take the time to assess your weight. This step is important as it helps us determine which harness will best suit you and how many bungees will be necessary to ensure your safety and enhance your enjoyment during our workout together. After this, you will have the chance to choose your location in the class. If you’re fortunate enough to be coming with a friend (which we highly encourage), you might want to position yourselves with one of you in front and the other behind. This setup allows you to share in the fun and encourage each other throughout the class—because nothing bonds friends like the shared experience of nearly flying into each other! Our dedicated staff will assist you in attaching your harness to the daisy chain. They will ensure that your harness fits snugly and that you are padded appropriately for maximum comfort—because we want you to bounce, not break! This process may take some time, so we ask for your patience and understanding as we make sure everything is just right for you.

Let’s Get Ready to Fly!

We are genuinely excited for you to learn to FLY! We understand that this is the primary reason you are joining us, and we assure you that by the second song of the class, you will begin to learn the fundamentals of flying! By the conclusion of our first class, you will find yourself performing orbits, squats, burpees, and of course, experiencing the exhilaration of flying—while trying not to scream like a child on a rollercoaster! So, what are you waiting for? Come and join us this week to take flight and discover the joy of bungee fitness! Just remember to bring your sense of humor and maybe a helmet—because who knows what kind of aerial antics await you!
